Window closing for Senate to weigh in on Whitmer`s Natural Resources Commission picks

The Michigan Senate`s window for reviewing three people Gov. Gretchen Whitmer appointed to the state`s Natural Resources Commission is closing. Earlier this year, the Senate rejected two of Whitmer`s appointees to the commission, which regulates hunting and fishing in the state. She named three new commissioners -- Michael Lashbrook, of East Lansing, James Richardson, of Ontonagon, and Carol Rose, of Hilman -- in June, and the Senate has until Aug. 22 to either reject them or do nothing and let them take effect.
